About

ABOUT_first image.jpg
North is a land where anything is possible, life is easy and fun. It is a quiet place in the woods, somewhere where we feel free, live amongst splendid nature, make architecture, design, art and food.
We are a creative studio that flourishes the local craft of our region as we research and innovate on sustainable architecture, make eco homes, practice permaculture and share this knowledge through workshops.

Based in the Himalayas, we also offer travellers a space to stay in our natural cabins so they can experience living inside a museum of art, culture and history. We are here to redefine living in the 21st century through the means of what we know best - design. At the precipice of losing the very diversity that makes us different, all to the metronome of globalization, we are gathering for a movement through creation.

Our Application Process

1. Initial Questionnaire & Assignment

The first step in our application process involves completing a questionnaire that helps us understand your background, skills, and alignment with our values.

You'll also be given a role-specific assignment that allows you to showcase your skills and approach to problem-solving. This gives us insight into how you think and work in relation to architecture, design, and Himalayan culture.

2. Team Interview

Candidates who successfully complete the first stage will be invited for an interview with our team members. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and for you to learn more about the team you'll be working with.

During this interview, we'll discuss your experience, your assignment, and how you might contribute to our design philosophy and community engagement efforts.

3. Founder's Interview

The final stage of our application process is an interview with our founder. This conversation focuses on your alignment with our studio's vision and values.

It's also your chance to ask any questions about the studio's direction, culture, and your potential role in shaping our future architectural and cultural projects in the Himalayas.

Note on Salary & Work Culture at NORTH

We understand that making a career move, especially one that involves relocating or shifting work styles — is a big life decision. That’s why we want to be transparent: the detailed salary package will be shared with shortlisted candidates after the first step (Initial questionnaire + Assignment).

At NORTH, we offer more than just a job. Our compensation includes a fair base salary, performance-based incentives, and growth-linked commissions that reward initiative and impact. But what truly sets us apart is the culture we’ve built, one rooted in purpose, collaboration, and well-being.

Here, you’ll find a slower, more intentional pace of life. A clean and inspiring natural environment. A close-knit team that shares values of trust, creativity, and joy. A space where your skills won’t just be used — they’ll be nurtured, stretched, and celebrated.

If you’re looking for more than a pay cheque — if you’re seeking a life of meaning, creativity, and growth, this might just be the place for you.
